We're so glad Ziva David is alive! We panicked during the recent episode of NCIS, where Cote de Pablo’s beloved character headed overseas with Tony (Michael Weatherly) to avenge her father’s death. But instead of exacting revenge her father’s killer in Berlin, Ziva and Tony ended up getting sideswiped, with their lives hanging in the balance. Kevin Alejandro’s death on Southland hit us hard… Literally. During the show’s third season, the 37-year-old Mexican American actor’s character, Detective Nate Moretta, and his partner Detective Sammy Bryant (Shawn Hatosy) stop their car in front a local gang party. But as the two start walking away after a seemingly calm conversation, Alejandro’s character gets fatally whacked in the back of the head. “Sometimes there’s no warning as to when something like that might happen and I think our writers captured that really well,” Alejandro told TVLine.com. Ain’t that the truth!

Her work on the sketch comedy show earned her an ALMA Award nomination in 2008 and led her find roles in movies like 2010’s Our Family Wedding alongside America Ferrera and Carlos Mencia.

Any time the statuesque Puerto Rican graces the screen on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, everyone needs to hold on to their hats because Hurricane Joseline doesn’t leave any survivors. Haters beware! The Tony Awardsnominations were announced today, and we admit we're a bit bummed that no Latinos were nominated this year (except of course the superbly talented Lin-Manuel Miranda, a previous Tony winner who wrote the music for this year's hit Broadway musical Bring It On: The Musical, which was nominated for Best Musical). Congrats to Miranda!
Who: Jose Ferrer Awards: Best Actor in a Play—Cyrano de Bergerac, 1947, The Shrike, 1952; Best Director, Stalag 17, The Fourposter, The Shrike, 1952. Ferrer was a one-person tour de force who could do it all—from starring in Shakespeare plays (he was part of a production of Othello that still holds the record for longest-running Shakespeare play in the U.S.) to directing himself to a Tony (The Shrike). He was a consummate actor and the Latino Broadway acting legend.
