Latinas Who Could Replace Barbara Walters on 'The View'

After a career that has spanned over three decades, Barbara Walters has announced that she will retire from television journalism, including her show The View, in the summer of 2014. She will remain as the Executive Producer of the show, which has never included a Latina as a permanent co-host in the show’s 16-year history. It’s time for change, and co-host Sherri Shepard would agree.

La La Anthony, 33

The reality television star has already served as guest co-host on the live show during the recent Boston Marathon Bombing. “I think we can learn so much from children. The simplest message can mean so much. No more hurting people. This is so senseless. It makes no sense,” said Anthony about the attack. She’s an inspiring mom who can relate to the show’s demographic. Not to mention, she has amazing camera presence.

Sara Ramirez may portray noted orthopedic surgeon Dr. Callie Torres on Grey’s Anatomy, but she’s always be The Lady of the Lake to Broadway fans. The Mexican-born actress/singer, who was showcased in the ABC medical drama’s musical episode in the seventh season, appeared as the original Lady of the Lake in the 2005 Broadway musical Monty Python’s Spamalot, a role that earned her the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical.
