During an interview with the The Wall Street Journal, the Brooklyn Nine-Nine star revealed which country singer touched her heart while growing up in Texas. "Dolly Parton is cool," she told the reporter. "I started listening to her in the 1990s on the radio when I was in junior high school in Webster, Texas. When I found out what she looked like—the tight outfits, the cleavage, the bright lipstick and the big blond hair—I loved her even more. She was so comfortable in her own skin and liked looking that way. She's also a terrific singer-songwriter, and many of her lyrics are about her struggles coming up hard. My favorite is "Coat of Many Colors.'"
In 2011, the "Heart Attack" singer was considering giving country music a try. She began listening to lots of country hits and according to Taste of Country, her favorite artists include Kenny Chesney and Rascal Flatts.
In 2013, reports said that J.Lo would be teaming up to work with Taylor Swift on a song for her upcoming album. As it turns out, one of the reasons appears to be the fact that Lopez is a TSwift fan. "Both of them are huge fans of each other and excited to work together," a source told Us Weekly.
Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi
The former Jersey Shore star revealed that she's always been a big country music fan. “I used to listen to country all the time growing up because I kind of grew up in the country – upstate New York," Snookie said. "I had cows in my backyard, I mean, it was kind of country. So I used to listen to country growing up. I hardly listen to music anymore because I just watch the Disney Channel. But growing up, I loved Josh Turner, and I loved Billy Gillman. He was my favorite!”
It comes as no surprise that the 21-year-old "Slow Down" singer considers best friend Taylor Swift her country music favorite.
