The Mexican-born tattoo artist started dating Mötley Crüe band member Nikki Sixx back in 2008. In 2010, their romance ended shortly before she confirmed her new relationship with Sandra Bullock’s ex, Jessy James. Rumors claimed that Kat's cheating heart was the reason for her split from Nikki.

A year later, Nikki published a memoir titled, This Is Gonna Hurt: Music, Photography and Life Through The Distorted Lens of Nikki Sixx. When dishing on former love, the musician told Us Weekly, ”I felt that being nice and kind to the relationship was important, and I know all things come to an end eventually, and when it did, I didn't feel that it was my job to point fingers.”
