Hey guys, it's Jasmine. I'm so excited to be blogging for Latina.com!
I hope you'll join me every week to get beauty tips and advice on two of my favorite topics...beauty & boys! LOL.
For my first blog, I'm going to be blogging about dating tips — specifically how to get ready for a date. I know all of us girls go through this, so here's my advice (I hope it helps!).
When I get ready for a date, the first thing I need is one of my girlfriends with me. I (we) go through all of my outfit choices, makeup and hair. (It's always good to have someone there for a second opinion).
Next, I try not to overdo it. It's always good to be casual and look like yourself AND to look like you're not trying too hard. I always feel like guys appreciate it when you're just yourself and they always feel comfortable when you can let yourself just be yourself.
Then, I make sure I'm comfortable. I always like to wear flats or comfortable shoes on the first date -- nothing is worse than not being able to walk around because your feet hurt! I remember this one time, I was trying to be cute and wore high heels on a date. We went to play mini-basketball at ESPN Zone and I had to sit down and stop playng because my feet hurt so bad. Way to kill the fun out of a date!
Something else I do before every date is put on a good perfume. I LOVE Versace Crystals...I always get compliments when I wear it. Perfume is such a personal thing because it will smell different on everyone's skin, so take your time finding one that works for you! I also love wearing sweet smelling lotion, like the butter cream from Khiels.
Great accessories are also a must, especially when you're trying to look like you're not trying too hard. Lol! You can wear a simple outfit -- like jeans and a tank top -- but if you add the right accessories, BOOM, you will look FABULOUS!
I also like to make sure my nails are done. I like to throw a little color in there to bring my whole outfit together...Nail art can be really cool, too, and it shows guys that you pay attention to the little things too and that you're well put together.
You can do all kinds of things to prep for your date, but at the end of the day the most important thing is to have fun and just be yourself! That way you don't misrepresent who you are and you'll know that the guy really likes you for you and not this "fake" person that you've pretended to be. I hope my dating advice has helped.
Please leave me comments/questions on any topics you want to me to talk about for future blogs. Also, please share any dating stories -- I love hearing from you guys. And remember to check back every week for Jasmine V, Beauty & Boys! Until next time...
