1. Once Upon a Time in Mexico

In this flick Mendes plays AFN operative Ajedrez assigned to trail Willem Dafoe’s character. The role earned her a Teen Choice Award nomination.


2. Stuck On You

In this Farrelly brothers comedy about conjoined twins Mendes stars alongside Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear as a drop dead beautiful aspiring actress April Mercedes who the twins meet when moving to Hollywood. Hilarity ensues!


3. Hitch

Mendes stars opposite megastar Will Smith in this romantic comedy about a matchmaker Hitch, played by Smith, who attempts to help men land their dream girl – that is until he has trouble landing his own.  That is where Mendes steps in as Hitch’s dream woman Sara Melas, a gossip columnist trying to take down the mysterious date doctor only to find out she’s dating him!


4. We Own the Night

A far cry from comedy Mendes took on a more serious role in this crime drama that made its first appearance at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival.  Mendes plays Amada Juarez, a woman whose marriage begins to fall apart when her husband, played by Joaquin Phoenix, goes undercover inside a drug-smuggling business.

In this 2008 film with an entirely female cast Mendes somehow finds a way to turn audiences against her as Crystal Allen, a Saks salesgirl having an affair with a married man This draws the wrath of the other females in the film played by Meg Ryan, Annette Bening, Debra Messing and Jada Pinkett Smith.
