Madonna's Ex Carlos Leon Describes His Close Relationship with Daughter Lourdes

Madonna's daughter Lourdes Leon seems to be a certified daddy's girl. The 11-year-old's father, personal trailer Carlos Leon, talks to People about his close relationship with his daughter.

"She's at that point where she can call me and say, 'Hey Dad, what's up? What time are you going to get me?' " he says of his daughter. "It's really cool. We talk every day."

Carlos admits that he'd rather be the fun parent than the disciplinarian to Lourdes. "It's hard for me to be the tough guy with my daughter," says Carlos. "Maybe I should work on the discipline stuff, but I could leave her mother to do that!"

Carlos is also quick to stand up for Lourdes's mom, claiming the rumors of Madonna's affair with baseball player Alex Rodriguez are false: "Trust me, that's a lie. I know for a fact, she wouldn't do that."

In spite of being the daughter of an international pop icon, Carlos insists Lourdes is a down-to-earth kid. "Look at me and the way I live: I ride my bicycle, I walk, I don't have a driver," says Leon. "That's how I keep her grounded. Her mom does a good job too. She's not that person that everyone thinks. She's very laidback and cool."

Of course, music is a big part of Lourdes's life. Carlos whips out his iPhone to show off his daughter's eclectic taste: "Alicia Keys, Audioslave, Beck. I like everything she listens to!"

It's kind of hard for us to believe this budding fashionista has as grounded and laid-back a lifestyle as Carlos describes (there's nothing easygoing about traveling around the world via private jet, after all), but it is nice to see Lourdes has a strong relationship with her biological father, especially if things don't work out with her mom and step dad Guy Ritchie after all.
