Somewhere, Nick Lachey is reading this and rolling his eyes. His ex-wife Jessica Simpson can't seem to stop gushing about her Nick-lookalike beau Tony Romo. She tells People: "I just told him today, 'You're the love of my life. I don't really ever say that to anybody."
Umm, isn't that exactly what she told Nick repeatedly on their MTV reality show and in the lyrics of their love song duets?
These days, Jessica is making music with (and for) Tony: she co-wrote a song, called "You're My Sunday" for her man. But it seems writing songs and giving interviews about her love isn't enough of a gesture for Jess: the singer decided to cut off all ties with her exes by changed her e-mail address and phone numbers. "I don't want anybody that's been in my life [before] in my life anymore," she says. "I don't even want them to have any way of contacting me."
Does it bother Jess that Tony's reportedly still chatting up his ex-girlfriend Carrie Underwood? "I'm not a jealous girlfriend," she says, despite evidence to the contrary.
As for her pre-Tony history of dating d-bags like John Mayer and (rumoredly) Dane Cook, Jessica says, "I just love, so I don't understand when people can't do exactly what I do."
Is it just us, or is Jessica coming across as kind of a smothering girlfriend? Maybe it's time for Papa Joe Simpson to do some damage control and get Tony to give a gushing interview about Jess for a change...
