Which Latino Celebrities Snagged 2012 ALMA Award Nominations?

Be prepared to get your pride on! The 2012 ALMA Awards ceremony is blasting off on September 21st on NBC. The annual awards show, which is supported by the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), aims to encourage and celebrate Latinos who are representing the community in a positive light throughout film, television, and music. 

Executive producer of Ready for Love, Eva Longoria is back as the host for the event. The Desperate Housewives star is also nominated for “Favorite Movie Actress” in the drama and adventure category for her role in For Greater Glory. Latina actresses including, Salma Hayek (Savages), Eva Mendes (Girl in Progress), Roselyn Sanchez (Act of Valor), and Zoe Saldana (Colombiana) are also nominated in the category.

What to Expect When You’re Expecting co-stars, Jennifer Lopez and Cameron Diaz are battling it out in the same category “Favorite Movie Actress” for a comedy or musical. The multi-faceted Boricua powerhouse snagged a nomination for “Best Reality Star Act” for her judging skills on American Idol. The Voice's Christina Aguilera is a contender in the same category. We wonder which diva will nail it! J.Lo is also nominated for “Best Female Music Artist” along with Latina’s cover model, Gloria Estefan.

The fellas weren’t left behind either. Diego Boneta earned a nom in the “Favorite Movie Actor” category for his musical role in Rock of Ages. While Cuban heartthrob, William Levy is up against J.Lo in the “Best Reality Star Act” for his blazing dance moves on Dancing With the StarsPitbull, Romeo Santos, and Ricky Martin are among the leading men up for "Favorite Male Music Artist."
