Zoe Saldana: I'm No Party Girl

Don't count on seeing Zoe Saldana stumble out of a nightclub in the wee hours of the morning anytime soon! The Puerto Rican and Dominican actress says she's just not that kind of starlet. "I don't need to party at a club all night long in order to have fun," Saldana tells the Daily News. "It doesn't matter where I am, whether it's Paris, Santo Domingo or Los Angeles, I love meeting up with my friends, talking and sharing a bottle of wine."
That low-key mentality will serve Saldana especially well this year, since she's got two major movies coming down the pipe: the first being a hotly anticipated big-screen version of Star Trek that hits theaters May 8, and the second a James Cameron-helmed sci-fi flick, Avatar, which drops in December and will also co-star Michelle Rodriguez.
"Things are going well for me," says Saldana. "Without a doubt this is a very important year for my career; a year to reap rewards."
Saldana also says that while Hollywood definitely takes her ethnicity into account when deciding to cast her for a big role, she never lets it affect her hustle. "I think there's a lot of insecurity over ethnicity. I'm proud of being Latina and if they don't give me a role, I'll keep on fighting for other opportunities."
That's the spirit!
