Odette Yustman, whom we profiled in the September issue of Latina magazine, is about to blow up! The half-Cuban actress has a juicy role as a Kristin Bell's nemesis and Sigourney Weaver's daughter in the highly anticipated upcoming comedy You Again and recently talked to Movieline about how it feels to be on the verge of a watershed moment in her career.
Apparently, Yustman, 25, relished the chance to play a mean girl. "Joanna is really layered, so I had a lot of fun drawing from memories of a couple girls who were… [makes a face]. So I thought, this is my opportunity to channel this sort of person I used to know, and it was so much fun!"
But this gorgeous girl didn't always think she was cut out for the Hollywood life, "I went to a community college for a year and a half and then I thought about going to Loyola Marymount for business finance," admits Yustman. "But I thought, 'You know what? That’s not what I want to do. What am I going to do with business finance?' I want to act, and I’m not going to half-ass it and go to school at the same time."
One thing Yustman has no doubts about is her relationship to Brothers and Sisters star Dave Annable. The two are currently planning their wedding, happening sometime this fall near Santa Barbara, and Yustman assured us that there was going to be plenty of salsa dancing involved. "Of course there's going to be salsa! We're going to have at least 200 people. I've got my Cuban family, which is a lot of cousins, so I want a huuuge party!"
