WATCH: Q'orianka Kilcher Arrested

Actress Q’orianka Kilcher—best known for playing Pocahontas in the 2005 film New World opposite Colin Farrell—was arrested on Tuesday for tying herself to the fence of the White House while her mother, Saskia Kilcher, poured a black substance over her.

The 20-year-old beauty, whose father is a Peruvian Indian, was protesting a visit by Peruvian President Alan Garcia to the White House to speak with President Obama. She was advocating for indigenous rights and the protection of the Amazon Rainforest from corporate interests. According to officials, the actress was charged with disorderly conduct and her mother with defacing government property. Kilcher’s agent Carlyne Grager confirmed the mother-daughter arrest and said the actress is a strong supporter of indigenous populations around the world.
