If Christina Aguilera still has a genie in a bottle, she might want to rub it for good luck.
UsMagazine.com is reporting that the Ecuadorian pop star, 29 and her husband, 33-year-old music executive Jordan Bratman, have called it quits.
“They are now living apart, and they will see how that goes," a source tells the magazine, adding the pair "have been separated for months."
The source says Aguilera and Bratman have tried to make the relationship work but the romantic spark just isn't there anymore. “They were very much in love,” explains the insider. “But over the last six months, it became clear they were more like friends than husband and wife."
Latina.com followed up on the story this morning, but the singer's rep declined to comment.
Aguilera, who stars in the upcoming movie musical Burlesque (in theaters Nov. 24) met Bartman in 2002 when he produced one of her albums. The pair got married in 2005 and share a 2-year-old son named, Max.
Update: Christina has issued the following statement through her rep: "Although Jordan and I are separated, our committment to our son Max remains as strong as ever."
