Like many late-night comedians these days, Jimmy Kimmel took to his show on ABC to poke fun at Donald Trump's crucial decision to rescind the DACA.
The Deffered Action for Childhood Arrivals (otherwise known as DACA) gives immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as minors a renewable, 2-year period of eligibility to work and deffered action from deportation. Implemented in 2012 by the Obama administration, it has given many "DREAMers" throughout the years to chance to work and go to the school in the United States legally.
"Our president woke up and asked his staff ‘Now that this hurricane is over what’s something horrible I can do to distract people from the Russia investigation?’ Someone said, ‘You know, there are 800,000 innocent kids you could deport for no good reason,” and he said, ‘Done. And done.'" began the comedian's roast.
Though 45 never ceases to surprise us, his recent decision to rescind DACA has left us in awe. No one, not even the late-night comedian, thought that the president was capable of such cruel intentions. The decision, which was announced by Trump's Attorney General Jeff Simmons, brings to light some interesting questions about his own children, who are children of immigrants as well.
Is the president's main agenda to reverse everything Obama did and maybe get rid of his own children like Kimmel says? Watch the full video below.
