Tony Parker on Eva Longoria: "I Was Aware That She Would Be Filing for Divorce"

If there was one person who wasn’t surprised when Eva Longoria filed for divorce on Wednesday, it was her husband, Tony Parker.

"Eva and I have been discussing our situation privately," Tony said in a statement issued by his rep. "I was aware that she would be filing for divorce in Los Angeles."

Parker, who broke his silence on the divorce last night, is also denying reports that he was the one who initiated the divorce on Tuesday.

"I did not file for divorce in Texas and did not hire divorce attorneys in either Texas or California," he said. "We plan to continue to keep our discussions of this matter private."

Longoria, who has been married to the NBA star for three years cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split, after reportedly discovering hundreds of texts Tony sent to their mutual friend, Erin Barry, the wife of Tony's former NBA teammate, Brent Barry.

On Wednesday, Longoria’s good friend Mario Lopez said Eva is "devastated" about the divorce, but added, "she's strong."
