The singer's school Fundación Pies Descalzos has been named the #1 best official educational institution in the South American country.

According to E! News, the Alberto Merani Foundation carried a study to evaluate different public and private schools, by collecting data from the Saber 11 test from 2011-2015. The test, conducted each year, is done to rank the best colleges in Colombia to help parents decided where to enroll their children.

The singer took to Instagram to excitedly make the announcement. "Every year in Colombia they create a list where they choose the best public and private schools according to their Saber test results. And guess who leads the list? Fundación Pies Descalzos in Barranquilla," she exclaimed. "Sending all the students there a big kiss. I love you guys and let's aim for more."

Shakira also noted that she was on set filming, but took the time to share the news.

The Colombiana first opened started the foundation in 1997 after her first international hit. Since then, she has received numerous awards and recognitions, including bing named a Goodwill Ambassador of UNICEF and a Member of the Presidential Advisory Commission on Educational Excellence for the Hispanic population. The singer's ongoing work has provided accessible education for vulnerable and underprivileged children in her native country. Through the whole foundation, more than 10,000 children and 67,000 young adults have benefitted from Shakira's efforts.
