Although he’s still being vague about his reasons, baseball legend Sammy Sosa confessed to Univision (via the NY Post) that he has been bleaching his skin. "It's a bleaching cream that I apply before going to bed. . . . I use [it] to soften [my skin], but [it] has bleached me some," he admitted.

Sosa shocked fans when he showed up at the Latin Grammys last week looking like a completely different person, complete white skin and green eyes. He insists, however, that the lights from the camera made him look a lot lighter than he actually is. "I'm not a racist. I live my life happily . . . I don't think I look like Michael Jackson,” he said.

Sosa, who turns 41 tomorrow, declined to indentify the name of the bleaching cream he’s been using.

I am embarassed and ashmamed at sammy sosa. I first heard he went to italy t find a hair treatment to have good hair. Sammy it is physically impossible for u to have straighht good hair, descanding from black. The company i beleive he consulted was alter ego. He has slick hair but i guess everything is possible. Me being of Dominicam Descent i am apalled he is doing all this ,i guess he can go to the Arod group on not being Dominican. Sorry Arod, i love u,it's true. He said in an interview with tony andrade from univision he asked him if he wanted the cream. Reality check you are not maintaing a positive role model, only that you like michael can only be accepted if you look white. No longer Proud to be Dominican.
I think that it's very sad that he had to resort to lightening his skin I never understood why people are so hung up on having light skin, eyes and hair. Latinos come in all colors, shapes, and sizes and yet there are people out there who are out there trying to be someone they're not. I think he looks awful and should've just accepted himself as he was, that "rejuvenation" was just a very poor cover up for the obvious and it doesn't look natural at all. Until people start accepting themselves as who they are, you will always have people buying into this nonsense. By the way a moisturizer is used to soften the skin not bleach it.
i dont think that the camera lights would make that much of a dramatic difference..
Maybe he was still wearing his Halloween costume and he is totally into TWILIGHT =P
