A-Rod Skips Out on Steroid Scandal, Drowns His Sorrows in the Tropics

After being hit with explosive accusations of steroid use on Saturday, baseball star Alex Rodriguez indulged in a little tropical escapism and partied hard with a full entourage in the Bahamas.

The Daily News reports that A-Rod fled to his preferred destination, a $15,450-per-night, two-bedroom suite at Bahamas' Atlantis Resort, to drown his sorrows in Grey Goose and be pampered by a personal butler. No word on whether Rodriguez's part-time lover, Madonna, came along for the vacation, but we can be pretty sure that he wasn't hurting for the company of ladies regardless.

Meanwhile, no one on Team Yankees seems eager to rush to the defense of their highest-paid player, who according to Sports Illustrated, tested positive for testosterone and anabolic steriods in 2003. That transgression, which puts A-Rod's Hall of Fame hopes in serious jeopardy, occurred when the slugger was still playing for the Texas Rangers, so Yankee bosses are not about to get involved. "The ball is really in Alex's court," a team official tells the Daily News.

The question is, how will the notoriously press-shy A-Rod play ball this time?
