Wake up! Pope Francis may just be the coolest Holy leader ever!
The Argentinean-born Pope is set to release a prog-rock-infused album titled “Wake Up!” this November, reports Rolling Stone.
The album features Pope Francis delivering scared hymns and excerpts from his moving speeches in multiple languages with musical accompaniment ranging from pop-rock to Gregorian chant.
“For many years, I’ve been the producer and the artistic director of albums by the Pope,” the album’s producer and artistic director Don Giulio Neroni told Rolling Stone. “I had the honor to work with John Paul II, Benedict XVI and now Pope Francis.”
The first single off the album -- which is available now for through iTunes pre-order and will officially be released on November 27 -- is “Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward” and features Pope Francis addressing a South Korean audience in English last year.
“No one who sleeps can sing, dance and rejoice,” he says to a soundtrack of horns and electric guitars.
Pope Francis continued his visit in the United States by speaking to Congress on Thursday in Washington, D.C. and urged the world’s leaders “to keep in mind all those people around us who are trapped in a cycle of poverty. They too need to be given hope.”
