Nas Tells Kelis to Pay Her Own Damn Way

Nas has finally responded to the divorce papers his estranged wife Kelis filed almost a month ago, and it isn't pretty.

Even though the rap star's soon-to-be ex-wife Kelis is only a couple of months from giving birth to their child and hasn't been working, Nas is asking the judge to deny the pop tart the spousal support she is seeking. To add insult to injury, Nas also indicated that he wants her to pay her own lawyer's fees.

The reasons for the split are unclear. Kelis cited only "irreconcilable differences" as the cause for the breakup of the hip-hop power couple. But rumors have been swirling that Nas's roving eye and penchant for cheating may be behind the breakup. 

They are both seeking joint-custody of their unborn child. Nas has a teenage daughter from a previous relationship.
