Madonna's string of controversial lovers since her divorce from hubby Guy Ritchie may make it difficult for the pop diva to adopt a second child from Malawi. Madonna is in the process of adopting 3-year-old Mercy James, but officials from Malawi's Ministry of Women and Child Welfare Development recently told the NY Daily News that her "relationships may negatively affect the adoption of Mercy."

Apparently, the fact that she jumped straight from her divorce into an affair with Alex Rodriguez, then dumped the Yankee star quickly for 22-year-old Brazilian hottie Jesus Luz, has officials concerned. "The news she is linked to another woman's husband and a young man less than half her age makes us question her morals," added the Malawian official.

Malawi's child welfare chief Simon Chisale, also weighed in on the issue saying, "We do not only look at the material issues, but also the moral standing of prospective adoptive parents, because we do not want our children's morals to be corrupted."
