Madonna and A-Rod: Back On?

When we last heard from star-crossed lovers Madonna and Alex Rodriguez, things weren't looking so good. Madge was exploring Brazil's countryside with 22-year-old stud Jesus Luz while the Yankee slugger was enjoying (or consoling?) himself with Kate Hudson and other assorted divorcees. But wait...it looks like our favorite dysfunctional pair might be back on the mend!

Dutiful spies caught the couple spending quality time together in Hamptons this weekend, where they hung out with pals Jerry and Jessica Seinfeld and presumably dined on pureed vegetables and shared tired old jokes about life's little oddities. (Those Seinfelds really know how to party.)

But while Madonna and A-Rod seem to be reunited, their personal lives are still troubled. Madonna is reportedly angry over the leaked photos of her W magazine cover, in which she's smooching Mr. Luz and looking a tad worse for the wear. And Rodriguez isn't having the best week either, thanks to leaked details of an upcoming book by Joe Torre in which the former Yankee GM says A-Rod was obsessed with Derek Jeter and referred to by his teammates as "A-Fraud."

Hopefully Madriguez can keep their passion alive, because this could quickly turn into a sad tale of two past-their-prime stars crying themselves to sleep every night. Who wants to read the sordid details of that?
