On February 2 Lin-Manuel Miranda welcomed his new son into the world. The father of two was reluctant to leave his baby’s side but a phone call from Oprah worked like magic.
"Just got back from having a new human head on my chest. [He was born] a week ago," Miranda says. "I said, 'I'm not leaving the house for two months!' And then Oprah called. The only thing I'm leaving the house for.'"
Int. Hospital Room. Night.
[The screams reach a delirious crescendo. FRANCISCO MIRANDA enters. He is 7 pounds and 13 ounces.]

Lin-Manuel Miranda was part of an all-star lineup for Oprah’s Super Soul Conversations that took place on Wednesday. Taped for nearly six hours at the Apollo Theater in New York City, Lin-Manuel Miranda was joined by Salma Hayek Pinault, Stephen Colbert, Trevor Noah, Yara Shahidi, and Jordan Peele.
The proud father says his older son embraced the newest edition to the family. He says, "...we had a day of brilliance, and my other son, when we brought him home, he was like, 'Oh I love him.'"
Congrats to the beautiful family! Oprah at the Apollo will air on February 27 at 10 p.m. on OWN.
