Former Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi went from meatball to WOW after losing a whopping 42 pounds since giving birth to son Lorenzo Dominic LaValle with fiance Jonni LaValle last August. She’s not the only Latina who’s had a tremendous post-baby body turnaround. Mariah shed a whopping 70 pounds after the birth of her twins with husband Nick Cannon, over half of which came from water weight that she gained during her difficult pregnancy. “In the beginning, when I first had the babies, I just had so much edema... water and swelling,” she told Us Weekly, “Most pregnant women have that just in their feet.”

Losing 40 pounds of water weight first, Mariah combined a Jenny Craig-certified diet and workout plan. She ate no more than 1,500 calories a day and worked out three times a week with water aerobics until she was finally ready to flaunt her new figure.

The Mexican superstar was in no hurry to take the weight off, telling Oprah that she believes women should give themselves the same nine months to lose weight as it took to gain it. 

After suffering from gestational diabetes, Salma told Oprah that she got her body back thanks to Diet Designs--a program founded in Los Angeles by nutritionist to the stars Carrie Wiatt. Her only regret? Not being able to lose the weight with breastfeeding: "Except for a couple of exceptions, the only reason people lose weight like that when they're breastfeeding--it's that they're not eating and they're breastfeeding and that's not good for the baby."

Camila Alves doesn’t play around when it comes to giving her body the time it needs to heal. After giving birth to her daughter, Vida, Camila didn’t hit the gym right away contrary to what most celebs do. Instead she exercised a process known to Brazilians as “quarentena.”
 
On practicing “quarentena”: “You kind of respect all the hard workyour body has just done and give it a break. For these 40 days, you really take it easy,” she said to Us Magazine. “By that I mean no sex, light, healthy food, no trips to the gym. Then, after 40 days, you are good to go."
