Love is definitely in the air these days and La La Vazquez and Carmelo Anthony must be feeling the vibe because they sent out the Save the Dates for their summer nuptials over the weekend. The cards had a distinctly Valentine's Day feel to them, but they also held a clue as to where the ceremony may be held.
The heart-shaped red cards told guests to "Get into a New York state of mind." Although the couple currently resides in California and Anthony plays for the Denver Nuggets, Vazquez was born and raised in Brooklyn, to Nuyorican parents. Anthony was also born in Brooklyn, but moved to Baltimore at the age of eight, so it makes sense that both want to hold the wedding close to family.
Vazquez, 30, announced her summer wedding plans last month during a visit to The Wendy Williams show. She and and Anthony, 25—who have a 3-year-old son named Kiyan—were engaged five years ago on Christmas day. She joked to Williams that the wedding was going to be big, probably 250-300 people because, "Everybody’s been waiting for it so long, we might as well invite everybody to come hang out!"
"This is a really exciting time," the happy couple said in a statement to People. "We are looking forward to this summer to celebrate our love with our close friends and family."
