Former MTV VJ La La Vazquez and basketball star Carmelo Anthony are getting married this summer after a 5-year engagement. Vazquez, 30, announced the news yesterday on The Wendy Williams Show and said that although she and Anthony, 25, still have a bunch of details to work out, she's already hired wedding planner to the stars Mindy Weiss to plan the important day. "She did Heidi Klum and Seal's wedding and I liked her work so I hired her to come on board for my wedding," Vazquez told Williams.

Asked about how large the wedding was going to be, Vazquez laughed and said "Maybe 250-300 people ... Everybody's been waiting for it so long, we might as well invite everybody to come hang out."

Speaking of long engagements, La La has been spotted out and about many times over the last few years without her engagement ring, but she assured us that it's never had anything to do with the status of her relationship, "It’s not for a particular reason. Sometimes I forget it, and I have a two and a half year old son who is running crazy. And sometimes if I’m in a meeting or something, I don’t want it to become about the ring, I want people to hear what I’m talking about." We can totally understand, a nine carat stunner like that would have us asking all sorts of questions too!

I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
