No one tells Jennifer Lopez to give back diamonds—not even the man who made them! That's what hotshot jeweler Robert Mouawad learned when he gave the star $50,000 worth of ice on loan to attend a launch party for the new ALC clothing line in Beverly Hills.
"We received a call from [her manager] Benny Medina, informing us that Jennifer was going to keep the jewelry," dishes an insider to Page Six. According to their source, Gwen Stefani, Ellen Pompeo, and Lopez's pal, Leah Remini, also wore borrowed diamonds to the event but returned them the next day. Lopez, on the other hand, seems to have decided that they'd make a perfect addition to her extensive collection of fancy baubles!
Lucky for her, the jewelry maker is not too peeved about his un-returned wares. "As far as Mr. Mouawad is concerned, Jennifer can have whatever she wants, but a premature demand seemed presumptuous." Also, he (or someone very close to him) wants you to know that he won't miss them. "Mr. Mouawad is the Swiss billionaire who purchased the 60-carat flawless Mondera Diamond for $50 million. He will lose no sleep over $50,000, and frankly, Jennifer's endorsement is priceless." Well, excuse us!
How kind of the source to recognize the value of a jewelry co-sign by Jennifer Lopez after throwing her under the bus. That's back-stabbing at its best. Good thing Lopez will always have one person in her life whom she can trust and rely on for support.
Not Marc Anthony, silly! Medina! Lopez's manager was reached by phone to comment on the diamond controversy, and he brushed off all the rumors with ease. "There was no demand whatsoever. There was an offer. It was very clear."
Thanks for setting the record straight, Medina. And Jennifer, enjoy those diamonds! We know we would.
