Javier Bardem is a Hypochondriac

Esquire

Javier Bardem thinks he is dying. "I used to be a hypochondriac, but I was a young man then," Bardem admits to writer Chris Jones of Esquire magazine. "Now I really am sick." No matter that the strapping Spaniard seems have everything a man could possibly want: a gorgeous (pregnant!) wife, a fulfilling career, accolades from his peers, and status as an international sex symbol.

Speaking of gorgeous wives, although Bardem refused to speak to the magazine about his personal life, especially his relationship with Penelope Cruz, the writer did get a glimpse of the actress in the couple's rented Hawaiian home and apparently, just the fleeting glance was enough to convince the writer that Cruz is one of the most beautiful women in the world.

"She had just woken up, and she was fresh out of the shower, her wet hair still slicked back. She wasn't wearing makeup, but her skin was flawless. Her eyes were bright, and her teeth were perfect, and she was wearing a top that revealed her brown shoulders" gushes Jones. "I defy any man to meet her and not wonder whether his Clarke's nucleus has just exploded."

At least we know Bardem has something to live for!

About this author1

Mariela Rosario,

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
