Ethan Hawke in Alive (1993)
Based on the true story of an Uruguayan rugby team whose plane crashed in the Andes Mountains on October 13, 1972, Alive stars Ethan Hawke in the role of Fernando “Nando” Parrado—one of the sixteen Uruguayan survivors of the plane crash. Hawke isn’t the only non-Latino (playing a Latino) in the film: Josh Hamilton and Illeana Douglas also play Uruguayans.
