Golfing Legend Nancy Lopez Divorcing Husband of 27 Years
| 07/21/2009 - 16:00 |
Nancy Lopez shook up the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) in 1978, when she became the first Latina to win the tournament. Lopez's star continued to rise and she was named Rookie of the Year in 1978 and four time Player of the Year, and she eventually claimed a spot in the LPGA Hall of Fame. Now it seems like this golf legend has run out of luck, at least in the love department.
Lopez and her hubby, former New York Mets Star and World Series MVP Ray Knight, are splitting up after 27 years of marriage. They have three children together. A source close to the longtime couple told radaronline.com in an exclusive interview that the bond between the two is “really strained” and that the couple has naturally grown apart. The source also said that Lopez and Knight are already separated and Lopez is looking to “make it legal.”
