Gloria Estefan Nominated for the 2017 Songwriters Hall of Fame

Gloria Estefan might be a hall of famer very soon.

The singer and songwriter is among the nominees for the 2017 Songwriters Hall of Fame. Other musicians that are nominated include Jay Z, George Michael, Madonna, Bryan Adams, Babyface, Max Martin and more. Eligible members can vote until Dec. 16 for three non-performing songwriters and two performing songwriters. Five songwriters and songwriting groups will be inducted on June 15, 2017. 

Estefan made her way into our hearts as the lead singer in the band Miami Sound Machine during the late 1970s. She has since one seven Grammy awards and topped the Billboard charts especially when her album, Mi Tierra, became the first album recognized as number one on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. 

The 59-year-old has been keeping very busy with the Broadway musical On Your Feet based on her life with husband, Emilio Estefan. The couple was just last year honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom award for their contribution to American music.
