Gloria Estefan Donates $500,000 to Restore Miami Marine Stadium

Gloria Estefan is one generous star!

According to Fox News Latino, the Cuban singing sensation revealed over the weekend that she is giving $500,000 to help restore the graffiti-filled Miami Marine Stadium.

“It’s almost a symbol of our community and how much we’re a part of Miami,” Estefan told the Mami Herald.

The 56-year-old "Hotel Nacional" singer says she holds a personal bond with the stadium, citing that her concert there with the Miami Sound Machine in the mid-1980s felt like “the first celebration” of the band’s rise to stardom.

Estefan is currently a trustee for the National Trust for Historic Preservation, and she joins nine artists who are making contributions to help restore the stadium.
