Mexican actor Ricardo Montalbán died today at the age of 88. Born November 25, 1920 in Mexico City, Montalbán had a career that spanned decades but was best known for his role as Mr. Roarke in the hit show Fantasy Island.
Montalbán was nominated for a TONY in 1958 for the musical Jamaica and won an Emmy in 1978 for his role in How the West Was Won. When Montalbán first arrived in Hollywood, he said that the studios urged him to change his name to Ricky Martin, but he refused.
His most recent work consisted of lending his voice to the animated Disney hit Kim Possible and a guest spot on the show Family Guy.
