Demi Lovato's 18th Birthday Lesson: Keep Your Relationships Secret!

Birthday girl Demi Lovato turns 18 today and if there is one undeniable lesson she has learned over the last year, it's this: Don't talk to the media about your relationships!

Demi learned the hard way that love doesn't always last and was burned earlier this year when she gushed about her burgeoning relationship with Joe Jonas. Just a few short weeks later, the adorable couple shifted their status back to "just friends," a move reportedly initiated by the Jobro. After suffering through the embarrassing (and super public) breakup, Lovato told People magazine, "I learned my lesson. It's not very much fun when you break up in a public relationship. So, maybe next time keep a secret."

But Demi's not holding onto any grudges. She celebrated her birthday last night alongside little sister Madison de la Garza and Joe and Nick Jonas at New York's Buddakan restaurant. The Jobros are in town to help Lovato promote Camp Rock 2, which premieres September 3. Good to see Demi is growing not only older, but wiser!
