Celebrities Call Upon Congress for Gun Control Safety

The recent tragic events in Orlando have encouraged celebrities to use their platform and speak up regarding gun control issues.

Stars including Jennifer Lopez, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Christina Aguilera have signed an open letter to Congress, asking for a “safe and sane end to gun violence.”

The letter, crafted by Billboard and Everytown for Gun Safety, brought together various artists in the music industry to ask Congress to require background checks for every gun sale and also prohibit suspected terrorists from purchasing guns.

Billboard got more than 180 artists and executives on board, which also included Prince Royce, DJ Khaled, Paul McCartney, Cher and many more.
