High profile friends of rapper Jay-Z put on their best vintage gear this weekend for his 1920’s-themed 40th birthday celebration, held at Casa de Campo in the Dominican Republic. Jay’s wife, Beyoncé, invited close to 60 friends to the island paradise, including Alex Rodriguez and lady love Kate Hudson, Kanye West and girlfriend Amber Rose, Sean Combs, Swizz Beats and Alicia Keys.
An insider tells Page Six, "Diddy gave a toast. Jay-Z's friends also put together a video saying how much they love him."
Entertainment for the bash included synchronized swimmers (why not?), fireworks and an impromptu performance of "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z and Keys. Revelers hung out until 5 AM, and then Beyoncé hosted a surf-n-turf brunch later that morning.
