Let's face it, we love to see photos of Constance Marie and her beautiful daughter Luna Marie Katich. It took her three years to conceive a child, but she was worth the wait. Marie told PEOPLE, "We waited so long for her, she can boss me around as much as she wants!"
We love Marie's pregnancy journey but we also love her on screen when she plays Regina Vasquez on Switched at Birth. At first glance, making the Latina actress a single mom and a recovering alcoholic is a downer, but when you look closer Regina managed to deal with the strife and push forward. Having a daughter that is deaf comes with its far share of complications but she managed to raise an amazing daughter and great student even despite the odds. She told us, “I had never played a single mom, and I'm the daughter of one, so for me that was great. This is my homage to hardworking badass single moms.”
Jennifer Lopez's twins Emme and Max always melt our hearts. On top of everything that Lopez does, managing twins must not be easy! While we were obviously sad that we did not get an invite to the twins super cool birthday party this year, we can still admire the relationship that Lopez had with her adorable on screen son “Ty,” better know as Tyler Posey in the film, Maid in Manhattan. Marisa Ventura (played by Lopez) was a maid in a Manhattan hotel just trying to do the best for her and her son. When Ty isn't in school, he hangs out with his mom and some fellow workers. But honestly, if Jennifer Lopez was our mom on or off screen we would want to hang out with her all the time, too.
We love the sweet relationship that Sofia Vergara has with her son Manolo because she would do anything for him. In an interview with Harper's Bazaar, she said: "I tell Manolo, if I don’t have enough money for your college this month, you have to sell the Birkins" – and we all know how much Vergara loves her Birkins, so that's saying a lot. Her sense of humor in parenting guides her well in her on-screen character of Gloria in Modern Family.
When Judy Reyes isn’t playing mom to daughter Leila Rey Valencia, she’s playing mom to her on-screen daughter Edy Ganem (Valentina Diaz) in Devious Maids. Zolia Diaz, Reyes’ character, always feels like she knows what's best for her daughter and tries to keep her away from the bad boys. While Valentina may not like it, that’s too bad. She’s just being a mom.
We adore Jessica Alba and her two kiddos Honor Marie Warren and Haven Garner Warren. And it was her love of her children that spawned her entrepreneurial spirit in starting her line of eco-friendly diapers and cleaning products of The Honest Company. But that’s not the only time Alba’s motherly ways shone. Her role in Spy Kids: All The Time In The World gave her an outlet to show off those “mommy skills” as she played Marissa Wilson, mother to Maria and stepmother to Rebecca and Cecil. Alba’s character handled the stepmother role with finesse.
Maria Canals-Barrera has two beautiful daughters: Bridget Barrera and Madeleine Barrera. But Canals-Barrera also took on the role of mom… to none other than Selena Gomez. As Gomez’s non-Wizard mom on Wizards of Waverly Place, Canals-Barrera (as Theresa Russo), parents her rebellious daughter, and her two other children Max and Justin, with just the right amount of embarrassing antics and over protection.
Eva Mendes is about to be a mom, and the actress has had some practice – taking on the role as a mom in the film Girl in Progress with the beautiful Cierra Ramirez playing her daughter. While the relationship wasn’t ideal, her character learned to be a better mom throughout the movie and mend the broken relationship – and that’s not an easy feat.
