Spy Kids actress Alexa Vega walked down the aisle today in a Ian Stewart dress and said “I Do” to her fiancé, (producer Sean Covel), a rep for the actress confirms to Latina.com.
Wilmer Valderama, who became a close friend of Vega's while the two filmed the upcoming comedy, From Prada to Nada, attended the ceremony and Robert Rodriguez, who directed Vega in the Spy Kids trilogy, walked the part-Colombian actress down the aisle at the star-studded ceremony, held in Lead, South Dakota. Brazilian actress Camilla Belle, who also stars in From Prada to Nada with Vega, was expected to be one of the bridesmaids but she got sick and was unable to attend.
Last night, the bubbly and cheerful Alexa sent Latina this tweet: “I am so excited! Hopping into bed now to get some rest before I am a married woman!!” And a few days ago, Vega tweeted this picture with a few of her wedding presents.
Alexa says that it was always important for her to get married young because her mother got married at 18 and had her first kid at 20. "I always thought that was going to happen to me—that I was going to get married at 18 and having kids really young...Now I'm more invested in my career than I thought I was going to be at this age. And so I do want to hold off on kids for a while."
Covel, 34 (who is best known for producing Napolean Dynamite) proposed to Vega, 22 at a film festival in his home state of South Dakota last November.
After the wedding, Alexa goes right back to work. "I fly right back to keep filming Spy Kids 4," she told us.
