The first photos have hit the web of Shakira holding hands with Gerard Pique, confirming what we've been speculating for weeks about a possible relationship between the Colombian pop star and the FC Barcelona defender. The duo were snapped entering a local Spanish restaurant with their fingers interlocked. Despite the fact that both have issued strong denials, the photographs seem to be proof positive.

There was some confusion on the web about the nationality of 10-year-old YouTube singing sensation Maria Aragon. While we clearly would love to claim the little girl who can out sing Lady Gaga, her YouTube bio info clearly identifies her as a Canadian Filipina. That got us thinking, do you ever assume someone is Latino based on last name alone?
Latina, Filipina, Canadian, American—either way girl can sing and her YouTube channel has some other covers you might like, including one Bruno Mars' "Just the Way You Are."

We love Sofia Vergara, but every now and then, it gets a little under our skin how she seems to embrace some stereotypes about us Latinas. Don't get us wrong, we love being sexy and love our families and are protective of our children, much the way her character Gloria Pritchett does on the ABC hit Modern Family.

The Premio lo Nuestro awards, hosted by Angélica Vale y Jaime Camil, aired last night on Univision and it gave Spanish-language TV stars a chance to shine as well as a some of our tried and true favorite Latino pop musicians. Ricky Martin got emotional when he accepted his award for Icono del Año. During his acceptance speech he reflected on the years he spent in the spotlight, and how the last year has been so emotional for him since he came out publically.
