Demi Lovato is cleaning out her closet this New Year. “I’m donating my jeans,” Lovato said in a Public Service Announcement, which focused on the issue of homelessness among teens in the United States.
According to Fox News Latino, the 19 year-old part-Mexican singer/actress is lending her voice to the DoSomething.org and Aeropostale “Teens for Jeans” campaign to create awareness of this cause.
“All teens go through hard times,” she begins the video. “But, did you know that 2 million teens have nowhere to go at night?” She then encourages viewers with a pledge, “Clean up your closet and donate yours too.”
Lovato was nominated as one of the top 10 most involved celebrities on the DoSomething.org website. This year, she returned to the facility where she was treated for eating and bipolar disorders to speak to the women there who were seeking help for their own issues.
She tweeted about that visit, “Today I went back to the treatment center I went to last year to speak to the beautiful women fighting their inner demons to be able to share my story and let them know that it gets easier. Life is beautiful… You are worthy of it.”
