Esperanza Spalding will open for Prince this Friday and Saturday at the Forum in Los Angeles, California.  The Grammy-award winning bassist/singer/composer’s performance is part of Prince’s “Welcome 2 America” tour.

—Actress/singer Selena Gomez will be co-hosting the 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto on Saturday, June 19, PerezHilton.com reports.  Gomez will also perform.

Ricardo Chavira, who plays Eva Longoria’s husband on Desperate Housewives was arrested early this morning for driving under the influence, TMZ reports.  The 39-year-old actor was pulled over for a routine traffic stop in Los Angeles and, according to the website, was given field sobriety tests after police allegedly smelled alcohol on his breath.  Chavira is currently being held on $25,000 bail.

—USA Network has renewed its Fairly Legal for a second season, according to Deadline.com.  The legal dramedy, which stars half-Spanish actress Sarah Shahi, will launch its 13-episode order in early 2012.

—For its sixth season, Showtime’s Dexter series is searching for a ‘gorgeous twenty-something Latina’ for the main character, Dexter Morgan.  According to TVGuide.com, the new character named Jaime may be Morgan’s love interest after the loss of his murdered wife.
