Latin Gossip reports that the Spanish singer and Puerto Rican superstar are working on a song together, which is produced by DJ Frank E. According to the website, the DJ/producer said it’s an original duet and that people are going to love it. We will see!
— New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez has launched a campaign that will benefit families of New York firefighters who perished in the Sept. 11 attacks. According to TMZ, the 24-year-old Mexican American athlete designed a new vintage-style designer t-shirt with the slogan “You Go, We Go” – a line suggested by Sanchez’s father, a veteran firefighter. Proceeds will go towards the New York Police & Fire Widows’ & Children's Benefit Fund and the FDNY Foundation.
— Rico Rodriguez is back as Kmart’s “Fun Ambassador. The adorable 13-year-old Modern Family star appears in a series of funny online videos as part of the chain’s “back to school” promotion. Rodriguez, who plays Sofia Vergara’s son on the hit ABC show, brings viewers some of the fall’s hottest kid products.
— After much debate on MTV’s Newsroom blog over 2011’s Song of Summer, “Lighters” by Eminem reigned on top. The song features half-Boricua Bruno Mars, who explained to MTV how his involvement in the feel-good track came to be. “It was a freestyle battle,” he said jokingly. “I said, 'Yo, Em, if I beat you, you're gonna have to do a song with me!' I shut him down right then and there.”
