— Cuban actor Eddie Cibrian and singer LeAnn Rimes tied the knot last Friday. According to Zap2it, the private wedding ceremony had just 40 guests, including Cibrian’s two sons from his previous marriage. The following day, Rimes Tweeted the following message to her fans: “Eddie and I are overwhelmed by the amount of lovely well wishes. We are blessed and…. I’m Mrs. Cibrian!!!!! So wonderful to wake up as husband and wife. Love to all of you.”
— Happy Birthday to actresses Sara Paxton and Gina Torres. Paxton, who is half-Mexican, turns 23 today. Torres, who is of Cuban and Puerto Rican descent, turns 42 today. Happy Birthday ladies!
— It seems that Mariah Carey and Gloria Estefan are out of the running to be judges on the U.S. edition of Simon Cowell’s The X-Factor. According to TVLine.com, Cowell recently revealed that he hopes to announce the official list of judges soon, which includes Antonio “L.A.” Reid, Cheryl Cole, and Paula Abdul.
— No longer will we hear the Black Eyed Peas sing of female humps. According to PerezHilton.com, the hip-hop group announced recently that they plan to officially retire their 2005 hit My Humps and will no longer perform it live in concert.
— FOX-animated film Rio topped the box office this weekend, making it the top-grossing release of 2011 so far, according to TVGuide.com. The film soared to the top spot at the box office for a second week, bringing in a total of $286 million.
— In an exclusive interview with TV y Novelas, Roselyn Sanchez revealed more about herself – including her thoughts on competition between Hollywood’s Latinas. Regarding rivalries with other Latina actresses, Sanchez said she has had mixed experiences; some actresses are her friends, while others, with whom she would like to develop relationships, won’t even look at her. Sanchez also spoke of Eva Longoria, with whom she auditioned for Desperate Housewives. “I know Eva for many years and we told one another, ‘If they don’t give it [the role in the hit show] to you, then will they give it to me?’” Sanchez told the website. “And they gave it to her.”
