JoAnna and Jamie’s close friendship got us thinking about celebs who have stood by each other, not only through celebrations but also through the tough times. It's hard to find a great friend, especially in the cut-throat world of Hollywood, so these chicas definitely deserve some recognition.
Here are our seven favorite BFF's in Hollywood:

Christina Aguilera & Nicole Richie
All year long, Christina Aguilera and Nicole Richie have been spotted spending girls nights at L.A. hot spots, sipping champagne at their VIP table, listening to music and talking chisme. The moms got really close when Christina filed for divorce from her husband, Jordan Bratman. Paparrazi photographed Christina and her boyfriend Matt Rutler on a double date with Richie and her fiancé, Joel Madden at the SoHo House in West Hollywood, and Nicole made sure the photogs didn't get too aggressive with her dear friend, Christina.
Selena Gomez & Demi Lovato
They say best friends have a lot in common & that's especially true for Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato. They both have hit Disney shows, both have recording deals, they've both dated a Jonas brother, and they're both part-Mexican. "Demi Lovato’s been my best friend since I was 7," Selena once said in an interview. "Being able to work with my family on Disney is so much fun." The besties spent several months making hilarious youtube videos for their fans before they reportedly grew apart. But even though they don't talk very much anymore (as far as we know), Demi refuses to talk ill about her former BFF. When we asked her if it's true that she and Selena had grown apart back in May, Demi answered, "You know…I love her. Always will. And, that’s that." And recently, when Demi checked into a rehab center for emotional and physical issues, Selena refused to talk about her friend's mental and physical health...to anyone, despite getting thousands of offers. That's what we call loyalty!
Alexa Vega & Camilla Belle
What is it about playing sisters in a movie that makes actors feel like sisters in real life? Pals Alexa Vega and Camilla Belle met while shooting the upcoming movie, From Prada to Nada, a Latina spin on Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility, and hit it off instantly. When Vega got married to producer Sean Covel in October, she made Belle one of her bridesmaids.
America Ferrera & Ana Ortiz
Sisters on Ugly Betty, America Ferrera and Ana Ortiz became like sisters in real life. America is like an aunt to Ortiz's daughter Paloma — who was like a mascot for the Ugly Betty cast — and when the news broke that America had gotten engaged to her boyfriend, Ryan Piers Williams, Ana was ecstatic. ‘I’m just so thrilled for her!’ Ortiz, 39, told Latina.com. Ortiz added that America is head over heels in love. ‘I know she’s so thrilled, happy, excited and ready. Ryan is one of the most amazing men I’ve ever known and they have a really wonderful partnership.’
Friends since 1992, Mario Lopez and Eva Longoria may very well be the closest friends in Hollywood. Not only did Mario walk Eva's mother down the aisle at Eva's wedding to Tony Parker, but he also made Eva the godmother to his daughter, Gia Francesca. Given their bond, it's not surprising that when Eva filed for divorce from her husband Tony Parker last month, the Desperate Housewives star gave Mario the first exclusive interview about the split. “She is devastated, she wants us all to know that," Mario said of his best friend at the time," adding, "but she's strong."
Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek has so much love for her best friend Penelope Cruz, that when she announced Pe's name as a 2007 Oscar nominee for Best Actress, the usually composed actress let out a loud "YES!" Pe feels the same way about Hayek. When the two amigas nearly died on a plane that almost crashed in 2006, Penelope said the experience was less frightening because she had her close friend Salma by her side. "A thought came across my mind that if I were to die at that moment," said Penelope. "At least I'd die with my best friend."
