Sofia Vergara Shares 6 Tips on Being Sexy

Sofia Vergara is on the cover of Shape magazine this month and the curvy Modern Family actress shared her 6 rules of being sexy with the editors. Check out her tips and tell us if you agree!

Sofia Vergara's 6 Rules of Attraction

Confidence is Key: "Confident people have a way of carrying themselves that makes others more attracted to them," she says. "Latin women are very comfortable with their bodies and their sexuality. We aren't afraid to show that off a little bit more."

If you got it, flaunt it: Sofia knows what the men like. When asked what body part is her fave, she laughs, "I'm sure men would tell you it's my boobs, but I like my eyes. They have a natural cat's-eye shape, so I try to play that up."

Laughter is the key to happiness: Six months into Sofia's relationship with Nick Loeb he was in a near-fatal car accident that left him unable to walk for weeks. "It was hard for us because it happened in the middle of the most fun, sexy time," says Sofia. "I don't know if I could have stuck it out with him if he hadn't been able to laugh at himself and be happy even under the worst conditions."

If you want it, eat it:  "If I could, I would have foie gras and éclairs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!" she says laughing. But her real weakness is cake. "I love it," she says. "Vanilla cake, angel food cake, chocolate cake. For me and my son, buying cake at the grocery store is like buying milk. We always have it in the house."

Don't stress the scale: Sofia's not obsessed with the scale, but she does weigh herself to keep track of her weight. "I always allow myself a window of three to five pounds when I'm not working," admits Vergara. "But I don't ever want to get super skinny," she insists. "I think when women reach a certain age, they look better with a little fat in their face. I'm lucky I'm Latin because people expect me to be a bit more plump."

Make working out fun: Sofia hates working out. "But I also know that at my age—I'm almost 40!—I have to do it to maintain my figure. When I can, I do Latin dancing for exercise because it's so much fun and I just love the music."

Mariela Rosario,

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
