Sofia Vergara On Having More Kids: "Eventually I’ll Do It—For Love"

Sofia Vergara has a 19-year-old son named Manolo whom she adores, but the Colombian actress says she's open to having another child—well, sort of.

In the latest issue of Parade magazine (which features Sofia on the cover), the Modern Family star was asked if she'd consider having more kids with her boyfriend, Nick Loeb. “Nick wants babies," Vergara said. "Imagine me, again with a baby, when Manolo is 20! I guess eventually I’ll do it—for love," she adds.

In the revealing interview, which hits newsstands on Sunday, Vergara also opens up about what it was like watching her younger brother hit rock bottom due to drug and alcohol addictions. “To see somebody dying over 10 years, little by little, that’s’ the worst punishment,” she said. "He wasn't ready. He started with alcohol there, then pot, on to cocaine, to crack. Now he's like another person."

Vergara also revealed what it was like being diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2000. "I've never done drugs or smoked. And I don't eat red meat," she said, admitting she was taken aback by the diagnosis. "I felt totally healthy and suddenly they tell me I have Cancer? I was scared,' she says. "I immediately thought of my child {Manolo}.

Although a lot has happened to Sofia in her life, the actress seems to be in a new place in her life with boyfriend, Nick. "We have a very happy relationship," she tells the magazine. "Last year we rented a place for six months in New York. It was the first time that I lived with somebody since I got divorced," she says.
