Sneak Peek: Marc Anthony Opens Up for First Time Since Split from J.Lo

Marc Anthony is speaking out in his first interview since announcing that he was divorcing wife Jennifer Lopez. The legendary salsa singer sat down with ABC news reporter John Quiñones from Nightline to talk about what's been going on since the news that the highest profile Latino power couple in the U.S. was splitting hit the internet.

"I'll tell you that it wasn't something sensationalistic happening," Anthony said of their decision to break up. "It was a realization on both our parts. So, you know, it wasn't shocking. These things happen. It was a decision that we made jointly." Anthony also denied any wrongdoing, including allegations that he cheated on J.Lo, and claimed that the marriage simply no longer "worked."

Anthony and Lopez announced their split on July 15, 2011. They have two children, 3-year-old twins Max and Emme, that will keep them involved in each others lives for years to come. So, is there any animosity between the two these days? Not at all according to Marc. "I'll always love Jennifer," he bluntly admits. Watch a a few sneak peeks (you even get a glimpse of Anthony's sprawling Long Island home) below and tune in to Nightline tonight on ABC to catch the whole interview.

About this author

Mariela Rosario,

I'm a raging opinionista and I love to share my ramblings on everything from pop culture to food to stuff that makes me laugh & cry! I've worked in all types of media (TV, film, print) and was previously the online editor at Latina magazine before joining Mamás Latinas. On most nights you can find me working my way through my library of cookbooks or playing with my puppy Lola (my only child so far). I have a wonderful hubby who shares my passion for any and all kinds of travel. Together, we've formed a semi-professional wine drinking team.
