Shakira’s Other Men

Although sources close to Shakira and her ex-boyfriend Antonio de la Rua are insisting that there was no drama involved in the longtime couple's decision to part ways in August, we find the timing of the split a little fishy, especially since it happened around the time that rumors were swirling about a possible affair between the Colombian singer and Spanish football star Gerard Pique.

But then again, it’s not the first time that the pint-sized pop star had been linked to another man during her decade-long relationship with de la Rua, and most of the rumors have been without merit.

Here’s a brief guide to Shaki’s supposed “other men.”

Rumors of a possible love connection between Alejandro Sanz and Shakira were sparked with the enormous success of their duet, "La Tortura." Who can blame anyone for thinking there might be something more than just a friendly musical partnership going on, especially after seeing an oil-slicked Shaki writhing around in the music video. Their collaboration continued when the Spanish singer tapped the colombiana for his single, "Te lo Agradezco, Pero No," a slower, bluesier tune which also features the duo singing and dancing together in rather suggestive manner. There were even rumors of a possible sex tape featuring Sanz, Shaki and her now ex-boyfriend Antonio de la Rua floating around! But both parties denied the love connection, with Sanz making jokes about Shakira's "perfectionism" and control issues.
