Our stars are eating up real estate like there’s no tomorrow. First, Jennifer Lopez caused a buzz after she purchased a luxurious home in the Hamptons. Now, our Colombian cover girl Shakira has reportedly bought her own island! According to Caribbean Business PR, the 34-year-old singer and Roger Waters from legendary English rock band Pink Floyd have teamed up to purchase the $16 million Bonds Cay, a 700-acre island in the northern part of the Bahamas chain.
The stars plan to develop a high-end resort, luxury condos, and an artists’ retreat. John Christie, who is vice president of Caribbean real estate brokerage H.G. Christie, described Bonds Cay: “It's got some height to it, which means as you build up, you get better views,” he said. “There is the ocean to the east of it so you've got reefs and views of turquoise water.”
Other artists who are reportedly part of the huge real estate development plan include part-Spanish musician Miguel Bose and Spanish singer Alejandro Sanz. We can't wait to visit Shaki's new island paradise!
