Shakira Asks Judge To Dismiss Ex-Boyfriend’s Lawsuit

Shakira’s battle with her ex continues.

Reports are flying around that the Colombian superstar has asked a New York judge to dismiss a $250 million lawsuit filed by her ex, Antonio de la Rua. De la Rua, who is the son of former Argentine President Fernando de la Rua, dated Shakira for more than a decade before the two split ways in 2011.

If you recall, the two have been waging war in court for quite some time now. According to de la Rua’s lawyer William T. Reid IV, his client had no other choice but to sue the international superstar for unpaid wages while he managed her career during their 11-year relationship.

The 36-year-old singer has insisted that her ex was just one of her advisers. Of the first time she met de la Rua at a concert in 2000, the singer had reportedly said she was already “a well-known and recognized artist, and my international career was established and solid.”

Last year, Shakira had also filed suit against de la Rua for $3 million of her money, saying that he had “misappropriated” that amount.

As the world is well aware by now, Shakira has moved on completely from her former relationship. She and boyfriend Gerard Pique welcomed their baby Milan Pique Mebarak to the world this past January.

We’re curious to see if this problem is dismissed…
